Spring Innovation Week at VTDK

On 13-16 March, 2023, Vilnius College of Technologies and Design organized a second Innovation Week. Targeted work with foreign partners is enabling the College to strengthen the capacity of its staff and students in the field of innovation transfer within the project “Innovation Laboratories for Climate Actions” (ILCA) launched in 2022, funded by the EIT Climate-KIC EIT HEI Initiative.

The Spring Innovation Week was an event aimed at strengthening the ability of our students to develop innovative, climate-neutral solutions based on the needs of the market. It was an excellent opportunity to gather and share experience and knowledge with the help of project mentors and academic staff of the College. The event was opened with a talk on Greenwashing by Andrejus Račkovskis, the ILCA Project Manager. At the opening event, all student teams were introduced to the challenges they were going to face throughout the week. Two winning student teams came up with ideas for improving rainwater collection in cities and reducing food waste in public schools.

This year, the College is setting up an Innovation Lab for Climate Actions, whose activities will be closely linked to addressing the challenges faced by SMEs in the region in the area of Materials and SolutionsIn for Decarbonisation.
