On 16 December, 2022, Vilnius College of Technologies and Design organized an online public outreach event for project No. 220194 “Innovation Laboratories for Climate Actions” (ILCA) funded by EIT Climate-KIC and HEI initiative “Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education”.
During the event, the VTDK team shared insights into the issues identified by the consortium of 5 partner countries in the field of the ILCA project, introduced the ongoing and foreseen activities of the project, and most importantly, presented and discussed opportunities and prospects for collaboration with other higher education institutions and business incubators from Lithuania.
The key message shared with the stakeholders of the project was the following:
The ILCA project brings together five higher education institutions and three research organisations who are going to collaborate on climate issues. The project aims to:
- strengthen human capital in climate innovation and entrepreneurship by training students, academic and non-academic staff in systemic problem-solving
- build multidisciplinary capacity for climate and social innovation by creating climate innovation labs and involving ecosystem actors in the design of climate innovation projects
- support the preparedness and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the areas of climate transition and digitisation.
